To capitalise on the national policies that foster the development of healthcare services, Aoyuan Healthy expands its business by bidding for a land plot in Fengxian Industrial Comprehensive Development Zone in Fengxian District, Shanghai, China, through its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Shanghai Aohuiyan Health and Technology Company Limited (上海奧慧妍健康科技有限公司). The land plot has a total area of approximately 30,369.2 square meters, aboveground construction plot ratio of 2.5 and aboveground construction area of approximately 75,923 square meters. An industrial complex for healthcare and medical beauty businesses will be built there and it will consist of the regional headquarters for the Group’s healthcare and wellness business, an incubation centre for technologies of healthcare and wellness, a medical beauty flagship store, a research and development centre for medical beauty products, a centre for displaying medical beauty products, an experience centre and a talent training centre. The Group also intends to recruit strategic business partners and professionals to conduct research and development of medical beauty products and to train staff for the Group’s general health and wellness businesses.
The State Council issued the “Healthy China 2030” blueprint (《健康中國2030 規劃綱要》), which has made the policies on the development of the beauty and healthcare industries part of the strategy for national development. “The Opinions on Promoting the Development of Beauty and Healthcare Industries in Shanghai” (《關於推進上海美麗健康產業發的若干意見》) issued by the Shanghai Municipal Government echoed the above national policy by emphasising that beauty and healthcare industries should be made the pillars of the country’s universal healthcare system. Fengxian District is located in southern Shanghai and in southeastern Yangtze River Delta. The district has been dubbed the “Oriental Beauty Valley” which has attracted some of the largest direct sellers of makeups and personal care products and many other well-known cosmetic brands. It was also the only place in China which was awarded the title of the “Capital of China’s Cosmetics Industry”. The Group’s acquisition of this high-quality land in Fengxian District for its healthcare business reflects the ample room for the development of the healthcare industry. It also lays a solid foundation for the further development of the healthcare business of Aoyuan Healthy. The group will continue to strive to become a leading healthy lifestyle services provider in China.
The management of Aoyuan Healthy said, “The Group has successfully extended the scope of its business to commercial operation and healthcare business. It has also capitalised on the state policies on the transformation and upgrading of industries and the state policies on marking out certain areas such as the Yangzi River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for further development as part of the country’s strategy for national development. The Group has been pursuing the business strategies of diversifying its services to meet the evolving demands of customers, focusing on the development of healthcare and wellness business including medical beauty and Chinese healthcare and adopting the innovative model of “healthcare + technology” and “healthcare + ecosystem of businesses” for development. Therefore, the Group has established and is operating two traditional Chinese medicine centres and a medical beauty clinic in its managed properties. The Group will dedicate itself to providing diverse healthcare and wellness services at both residential properties and commercial complexes. It will also continue to integrate resources to provide medical beauty services and traditional Chinese medicine services for customers.”
